I lov...So, I responded intensely to your drawings. I love honesty in art, and there is an unguarded sentience, an emotional force, that comes through in your work. So here are my impressions - not in any particular order. I am struck by the brick walls that frame your pieces - metaphorical for how walled off you feel? but the unbounded that lives within these walls is there, still unbounded - This golam-like creature that lives there, endearing and vulnerable, having been through great neglect and abuse, is aparently ready to break out of jail? It is wonderful and compelling to look at. There is a sense that in the very next instant some light spark will find those blue eyes, and the cobwebs tell me that this moment has been a long time coming. The blue you have chosen has a stern and meloncholy feel, and the red on black has a strikingly oppresive, even angry quality to it. I love how the cob webs have seeped into the bricks, making cracks... is this wall breaking down? Are those webs slowly overtaking it?Gracehttp://studioluminaria.comnoreply@blogger.com
